Hello dear readers and fellow personal development enthusiasts!
This week’s substack will be a bit different.
A lot of my work as a therapist involves emotional education:
What are emotions and how to understand them?
Why you shouldn’t fight negative thinking and what to do instead.
Education about how negative frameworks & stories from your mind have evolved to help you in certain contexts.
And so on.
However, one of the most important things my clients get from our sessions is how to normalize and intervene when they feel that they are not feeling great emotionally.
(or at least I hope they do)
One of the most important things to remember here is that negative emotions, bad situations, shitty events happen.
All the therapy in the world will not prevent you from feeling bad sometimes.
That is not the point of therapy.
I will say it again - the eradication of negative emotions & thoughts is NOT the purpose of therapy.
But an important goal of therapy is to develop skills to deal with those bad emotions & thoughts when they appear.
And to know how to recognize the first signs that things are not ok.
So this week, on the 14th of November I am hosting a 3-hour online workshop on Mental health First aid.
It is a free workshop, hosted by my EMBA alma mater - Bucharest International School of Management.
It is part of their efforts to create a community of same-minded people who want to grow and develop continuously.
The target audience is mostly HR people, entrepreneurs, and team -managers who want to learn how to recognize emotional problems & how to intervene.
However, this workshop will be held in Romanian, so this is for my Romanian speaker readers only. * Of course I am also available to have it in English in the future.
If you choose to attend you will find out about:
How to recognize signs of the most common emotional troubles in your colleagues or team or yourself
How to make first contact & practice empathy
How to keep your emotional health close to your attention
Develop a first aid kit to keep and use when needed.
It will be a highly interactive experience, so if you want to join be prepared to attend with camera on and participate in discussions & group work.
Get your seat here.
